A note from Salida Schools Athletic Director Jim Coscarella:

I appreciate your patience, and like you, I am anxiously waiting for the state to approve the Colorado High School Activities Association’s (CHSAA) plans to resume activities this school year. Based on the information I heard during the all school summit CHSAA hosted earlier this week, I am optimistic all our CHSAA sports will be offered in 2020-21, keeping in mind these seasons may be nontraditional in timing and/or duration. The only local sport that is currently approved to start is Boys’ Golf. As soon as we have more information, we will officially release that to parents, coaches, and our community.

All student athletes (middle and high school) must have a current physical and complete the online registration on FamilyID in order to practice. Once the physical is correctly uploaded and acknowledged and all forms signed, the athlete will be noted as APPROVED for competition. All High School Athletes must also register on the CHSAA digital platform. All links and specific information is on the school district website at http://salida.ss13.sharpschool.com/about_the_district/activities/sports . Transfers will need to meet with the Athletic Director for further instructions.

For all boys interested in playing SHS golf this year, practice begins on Monday August 3rd, 1:00 pm, at the Salida Golf Course. If you have any questions, please contact Coach Mike Coscarella at mike.coscarella@gmail.com. Bring your golf clubs and your own water bottle. If you are ill or have symptoms related to COVID19, stay home and contact the coach. Temperature checks will be conducted at the beginning of each practice.
