Salida School District COVID-19 Plan

October 19, 2021

Dear families,

Over the past few days, we have had a cluster of positive COVID-19 cases develop across multiple campuses. Due to the quickly developing situation, we are requiring all k-12 staff and students to wear a face covering as we add additional layers of protection.  This level of response will stay in place through 10/28/21. We expect to have a better understanding of exposures by that time.

At this time we are evaluating the need for remote learning dependent on staff capacity to cover programs because of a shortage of substitutes and staff childcare connections. If remote learning becomes necessary, a separate communication will be sent.

Two reminders.  First, we will contact you directly if your child has been potentially exposed. Second, if your child is symptomatic please keep them at home until you can make a plan with your school’s nurse. Thank you for your support.

Respectfully,
David Blackburn
