Welcome to the Salida School District.  To enroll for kindergarten through 12th grade, all new students must be:

•    A resident of the District (proof of residency required) – Check the District Map to confirm district residency.  If you are not a district resident, please see the non-resident information below
•    Between the ages of 5 and 21 years
•    5 years old on or before August 1 for kindergarten or 6 years old on or before August 1  for first grade

All new students must have:

•    A birth certificate or its equivalent
•    Up-to-date immunization records or statement of exemption
•    Name, address and phone number of last school attended

Enrollment forms are available for download on this page and may also be picked up at each school as well as the central administrative office.


The Salida School District accepts students from other school districts on a space and staff available basis.

Students living outside of District boundaries may apply for non-resident authorization to the school of their choice.  In order to apply a Non-District Resident Application must be filled out.  Forms will be available in every school building and in the central administrative office.  Completion of the form does not guarantee enrollment.  The receiving school principal will make the decision as to whether an application is accepted or rejected based on criteria established in state law and Board policy and regulations.

To enroll your child in grades kindergarten through 12th:

1. Download and print the appropriate enrollment packet.  You may also pick up an enrollment packet at the campus office.

2. Complete the enrollment packet, and other forms like free/reduced lunch.

3. Turn them in to the school office.  During the summer months forms should be submitted to the Central Administration Office locate at 349 East 9th Street.

4. Confirm that your student is scheduled into the proper classes by communicating with the appropriate school counselor:

Make sure that you:

  • Confirm all paperwork is in, including Free and Reduced Lunch;
  • Have a clear schedule with times and dates; and
  • Inform the school of any unusual circumstances regarding your child (ie. health concerns)
  • Schedule the bus route if needed.

There is a different process for Early Childhood enrollment.
