Salida Schools Update from Superintendent

From Superintendent David Blackburn:
It has been a busy week at the schools with staff working on all aspects of our student programming to determine best steps forward.  We know that our response to next year will need to be dynamic and flexible.  Even as we work on multiple layers of student programming and scheduling we are simultaneously working with local doctors and public health to determine the best way to respond to various scenarios.  In light of that, Superintendent Yates and myself are hosting a community dialogue this Monday from 5-6pm with local doctors, public health and our regional epidemiologist.  This provides parents a way to ask questions directly of health professionals, just as we are doing.  The schools are working to mitigate risks, but each family has the responsibility to self-evaluate their risk levels.  I started last week a Monday 5-6pm radio show for parents to call in.  This will replace that show this week, and will be aired on 92.3 and 104.1, as well as Facebook live for individuals to tune into.  The call will be hosted on Zoom and aired on the other stations.
