Superintendent David Blackburn in partnership with leaders from our local first responder community will share a presentation about the District’s Emergency Operating Plan (EOP) on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at 7 p.m. in the SHS Auditorium. Following the presentation there will be an opportunity for a Q&A with the panel.
Topics will include information about planned responses to potential security threats outlined in the EOP, drills and other routine training practices, and what parents can do to help keep our students and schools safe.
The presentation will also include information about upcoming Reunification Drills planned over the next month. These drills will help prepare schools, parents, and the community for the important process of reuniting students with a safe adult following an emergency situation. Families should watch for additional information coming from the principal at their school and through the Salida School District app. Note that the Salida Early Childhood Center will not have a reunification drill, as they practice a direct release to parents/guardians every day.
Parents are reminded to download the Salida School District app in order to receive updates from the District. Information about drills, key dates and activists, and other timely updates will be shared through the app. It is important to make sure that notifications are turned on, both in the app for the schools of interest, as well in phone settings, to allow the notifications to push through to the home screen.
