Welcome to the Salida School District

Salida Schools wants to welcome you to a new school year and a brand new web space for the community.  We are replacing our old website with a new website and communication platform that will bring our schools, students and teachers to forefront of the 21st century.

Salida Schools is a fun team to be part of. The district has seen consistent numerous awards for the last five years, including being named a District of Distinction since 2013. The Salida Chamber of Commerce named the district the Business of Year. However, the real fun goes beyond accolades and honors. The district is striving to not only be a community school, but also ensure every individual student is growing. Success is about individual kids each year. Success is different for each kid as well.

The community is small enough to know and address each student as an individual, and the community has enough synergy to ensure that every student gets the support needed. Last year the local community gave over $65,000 in scholarships to students. No district in the state has had more Boettcher scholars in the last 6 years than Salida. Yet, college is not for all. The district committed to new graduation guidelines, requiring every student to complete a capstone project that applies learning in the real world. The district started a building trades program, building houses by students for staff. That same philosophy of success for each and every kid requires that teachers know their students personally and adapt to those student's learning style and needs. That approach is seen all the way down to the Early Childhood Center.

Salida Schools is not a perfect team, but it is a lot of fun being part of a community that strives to support each individual kiddo. If you ever have questions or needs, please contact a teacher, an administrator, or myself--we want to hear from our community.
